A piano workshop, one day at a time
A piano's strings pull on its iron plate with something like twenty tons. Before the restorer can lift the plate out, every string has to come down to slack, and the plate will not forgive you for letting one side go while the other still pulls. You can hear every string fall as you turn.
| Hover, or ← / → | pick a string group; the struts show the plate after the turn |
| 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 | turn size: a quarter, a half, three quarters, let it all go |
| Click or Enter | turn (a WON'T HOLD turn needs a second click) |
| T | tap the nearest strut and listen for its true give |
| P | play the piano as it stands (free) |
| R / Esc | restart this piano (asks) / pause |
